What each label means, how checks are done and how to appeal.

Public labels and their scope

  • Contact confirmed — the email or phone completed our confirmation process on the date shown. This does not verify identity or qualifications.
  • Identity verified — we completed a specified identity check using an approved method. ID numbers and documents are never shown.
  • Credential verified — the named credential was checked against the stated issuer or a reliable source where reasonably possible. We show the credential, issuer, check date and scope, and nothing broader.
  • Self-reported — supplied by the astrologer and not independently checked.
  • Pending — a check has not been completed.
  • Unable to verify — the available evidence was insufficient or the source could not be reached. This is not a finding of dishonesty or fraud.

How a check works

  • Before upload we explain what evidence is needed, why, who can see it, how long it is kept and what will be shown publicly.
  • We collect the minimum evidence needed and prefer redacted copies or confirmation from the issuer.
  • A trained reviewer checks with the issuer or source and records what was checked, how, when, by whom and with what limitations.
  • High-impact or disputed decisions, such as reversing a verified status, need a second person.
  • If a claim cannot be verified or is not accepted, the astrologer is told why and can correct, resubmit or appeal.
  • Re-checks happen only on a documented schedule or when credible new information appears. We do not imply continuous monitoring.

Never allowed

  • Treating a document image alone as proof of authenticity.
  • Displaying private documents publicly.
  • Selling verification outcomes, or using "verified astrologer" as a broad endorsement.
  • Letting AI approve or reject a credential.
